On April 26th, Rowan’s Ultimate Frisbee (10-11) heads to Middletown, NY to play in the Metro East D-1 College Men’s Regionals. In their first game of the tournament they will be playing Rochester Institute Spudheds (15-12). This will be the first time both teams have met and played. Senior Chistopher Cocciadiferro had 7 goals in the last tournament with 2 assists, Adam Smith had 10 goals.

Pull starts at 9am on Saturday, April 26th. Last tournament for Rowan Ruf Riders wasn’t their best showing, going 2-5 in the and losing most games by large margins and are the 14th seed in the tournament. The Spudheds are coming off 10-4 in their last 2 tournaments and are the 7th seed amongst many big hitters in the tournament.

Senior Captain Chris Cocciadiferro and 2nd year transfer player was humble when he saw the bracket schedule.

“ We are just going to go out there and have fun. We played heavy hitters all year, we just have to play our game and what happens happens.”

The Ruf Riders play in the Metro East D-1 College Men’s League and it contains many Division 1 programs on the East Coast including Canada. But the stakes are high because the winner of the tournament gets a first class ticket to the USA Ultimate College Championship.

Last year Rowan Ruf Riders at the same tournament last year went 0-3 and have something to prove going into this tournament. They’ve played teams like this all year and they believe they can accomplish what might seem impossible.
